Photographs printed on glass
Three 5 x 5in
Diane Best's - JTNP 3UP - is part of a new series featuring Diane's photographs of National Parks. JTNP 3UP includes three photographs of Joshua Tree National Park, steeped in vibrant colors and then printed on glass.
As a trained painter, Diane has generally used photography as a reference point, until now. Layered with burst of pop-colors, these artistic jewels are exactly what we all need in our lives right now.
Each print on glass is 5x5in, sold together in set of 3. The pieces are mounted and ready to hang, no framing necessary. These 3 pieces hang perfectly together as a set, individually or used as table-top artwork.
MADE IN CALIFORNIA : DIANE BEST
Diane Best was born in Boston, MA, studied at Stanford University & the San Francisco Art Institute, before moving to LA where she created commercial artwork for the entertainment industry and commissioned portraits while pursuing and showing her original artwork.
In 1995, Best settled in Joshua Tree, CA, where she captured the intense drama of the desert landscape that surrounded her through painting, photography and moving-image work.
"Seeking more and more remote, uninhabited and overlooked corners of the desert, I am interested in preserving or recording a single incredible moment of converging light and landscape."
Working in the tradition of American conservationist artists of the 19th century, Best strives to modernize landscape painting using contemporary theories of perception— influenced by deep ecology, photography, cinema, digital imaging and animation.
Today, Diane divides her time between Santa Fe, NM and Joshua Tree, CA. Her work has been profiled in publications including Lifescapes: West Coast Art & Design, Palm Springs Life Art & Culture Magazine, Art Patron Magazine (Palm Springs), a KCET Artbound documentary (on PBS) in LA and Telluride Inside.
