Senior, Military, Access or Other Passes

Senior, Military or Access Passes require additional verification steps. We've outlined the details of these passes below: 

Purchase at Entrance

Available at most National Park Entrance Stations. Call park or federally managed land to confirm availability. List of all federal recreation sites (PDF)

  • For U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over.

  • May be obtained in person at a federal recreation site.

  • Provides entrance or access to pass owner and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle at Federal operated recreation sites across the country.

  • Photo identification may be required to verify ownership.

  • Passes are NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE, and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.

Senior Annual Pass Purchase at Entrance

Available at most National Park Entrance Stations. Call park or federally managed land to confirm availability. List of all federal recreation sites (PDF)

  • For U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over.

  • May be obtained in person at a federal recreation site.

  • Provides entrance or access to pass owner and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle at Federal operated recreation sites across the country.

Lifetime Access Pass for Permanent DisabilitiesPurchase at Entrance

Available at most National Park Entrance Stations. Call local office of park or federally managed land to confirm availability. Must have documentation of permanent disability. List of all federal recreation sites (PDF)

  • A free, lifetime pass - available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States that have been medically determined to have a permanent disability (does not have to be a 100% disability).

  • May be obtained free in person at a federal recreation site.

  • Provides entrance or access to pass owner and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle at Federal operated recreation sites across the country.

  • Photo identification may be required to verify ownership.

  • Passes are NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE, and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.

Active Duty Military PassPurchase at Entrance

Available at most National Park Entrance Stations. Call park or federally managed land to confirm availability. List of all federal recreation sites (PDF)

  • You can receive your free Military pass by presenting your Current US military ID at most Federal lands that charge an entrance fee. 

  • Sites that issue the Annual Pass will generally also issue the free US military version as well.

  • Please contact the Federal Land you will be visiting in advance to ensure that they have the pass available.

Pass for Veterans

  • There is no pass available specifically for veterans.

 Free Pass for 4th Graders

  • Free for U.S. 4th graders including home-schooled and free-choice learners with a printed voucher from the Every Kid in a Park website are eligible for the pass.
  • Pass is valid from September through August of the year that the student is in the 4th grade.
